narrowcrop roundcorner

GFeller makes leather Moleskine cases…for about 20 bucks I converted this Franklin planner case into a new home for my M.

A second skin for your Large Moleskine®Notebook (5 x 8 ¼”) that itself will become an elegant heirloom. Priced at $39.95 it is an excellent value and will provide exceptional service. We used our regular English kip, a thin very tight-grained leather that is exceedingly durable. (Also available in Chocolate or Black calf finished cowhide or buffalo, depending upon availability.) This hand cut cover features extended inside cover flaps to completely eliminate the “Cover Bump” normally encountered with slip on covers. The rear inside flap has been slit to allow use of the elastic closure Moleskine® made famous. (via gfeller)

Well if you can’t get one imported…

I recently became enamored with the Midori Traveler’s Notebook. Since they are so hard to get here in the states, I decided to make my own version of it. The size is a little different. It’s slightly taller and wider. I sized it so that I could make my own refills out of folded 8.5″x11″ paper. The cover is a nice soft leather that will wear very well. I still need to make a book mark and a pen holder. See the inside pics for more information. (via flickr)

Must Stop Drooling…

If you come into my office you’ll notice a couple of things…Dude has a lot of Bibles and Moleskines! Now I find a blog that celebrates the joy of collecting almost perfect objects. The blog is called The Bible Design And Binding Blog and here is an excerpt from a review that they did on the Allan Journal.

Last Friday, we talked about Bibles and notebooks — and I promised to say more about the ultimate notebook, the Allan’s Journal. Let’s take a look …This is the Pocket Journal. It measures 5.75 by 4 inches, has 192 pages, and is bound in Morocco goatskin with a single ribbon marker and art-gilt page edges. A larger Standard Journal, which measures 7.75 x 5.0625 is also available. It comes in a slipcase, too, which is nice. Right now, only the Standard Journal is listed at Bibles-Direct.com, where it sells for £10 — about $20 in play money. The Personal Journal listed for £8, which works out to about $16. read more
